Ella's 2nd Birthday Cake

This cake was made for a friend of mine. Her daughter Ella was turning two and she really loves the Disney movie "Beauty and the Beast". I found a picture online and made a reverse copy of the picture. I then did a butter cream transfer of the picture for the cake. I really like how the cake turned out.

The Golden Snitch

Made for my daughter's 6th birthday. She wanted a cake with Harry Potter and the golden snitch. This is what I came up with. The cake was cooked in two Pyrex bowls and covered in fondant. The wings are fondant. Harry is also fondant. If you look closely there is a chocolate frog. The cake is a chocolate cake.

Funny story about this cake. I decorated it the night before (after suffering all day with food poisoning). In the morning my daughter was looking at the cake and she said "Mom you forgot Harry's glasses". I had left off Harry's glasses. I had tried so carefully to get all the details right. Harry even had green eyes. I still can't believe I left his glasses off. So anyway, I quickly make some glasses and put them on him.

Made for a Young Women New Beginnings program. The bees are fondant. The rest is buttercream. The cake was one layer white cake and the other layer chocolate. I can't remember if it had a filling.

Duel Birthdays

This cake was made for a friend of mine. Her husband was turning 30 and he loves tv. She also wanted half of it for her sister-in-law. This is what I came up with. The flowers are royal icing the rest was piped cream cheese. The cake was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

Fondant Demonstration

Back in November of last year I was asked to demonstrate for my ward's enrichment how to use fondant. I basically showed the women how to cover a cake and a few other ways to decorate using fondant. I cut some leaves out of the fondant, made a turkey and some pumpkins.

The flowers on the cake were piped by one of the women...hence the Danci Rocks.

Krystal's Cake

I made this cake for my brother's wedding. I transported it unstacked over 5 hours. The top two tiers are styrofoam and the bottom layer is chocolate peppermint with buttercream frosting mixed with crushed candy cane for the filling. I stacked and piped the border and dots at the reception. The flowers are silk and were arranged by my sister Katie. The topper was provided by the bride. The border and dots were piped using royal icing.

I got the idea for this cake from this site. The cake is white cake covered in buttercream frosting. The spoon, one, and spoon are fondant. The cheerios are real cheerios. There were also cupcakes with green frosting and cheerios to go along with the cake.

I got this idea from this site. Thank you Rebecca Sutterby for the idea. The cake is covered in fondant with royal icing piping details. The flowers are fondant. The bottom layer of the cake was chocolate marble. The middle was Key Lime. The top was white cake. All the cakes had raspberry filling.

I couldn't think of a good name for this cake. Anyone have any ideas? It was made to celebrate three birthdays and a baby blessing. The figures and rocks are all fondant. The cake is covered in fondant.

My neighbor asked me to make a cake for her three kids combined camping birthday party. The cake is chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream (it had a hint of chocolate to give it the color). All the decorations are fondant. There are candles in the fire pit so there would be a real fire. The tent is rice krispies with fondant over them.

Suprise Giraffe

Pinacolada cake (coconut cake with pineapple filling). Buttercream frosting on the cake. The giraffe is ice cream cone (neck) and rice krispie treats (head) covered in buttercream and fondant. (That purple thing is his tongue). Decorations on the cake are fondant. There is something about this giraffe that bugs me. Let me know if you figure it out.

Ringer of a Birthday

This cake was made for my Father -in-law. He likes to play horseshoes. The cake is chocolate cake (WASC chocolate style with chocolate chips added). The dirt is chocolate cake scrapes with Oreo Fudgies crushed up in it. My five year old helped make the dirt. The pole is a punch canister I glued to the board and covered in fondant.

I made this cake for Chris's work. They asked for a cake and I wanted to practice so this is what they got. The cake is coconut and is covered in fondant. I tried a new fondant recipe and I like it a lot better.

I made this cake for the Super Dad's in my life. I drew the "Super Dad" on paper and then used the pin prick method to put it onto the cake. I then piped it onto the cake. The cake was the White Almond Sour Cream recipe only I didn't have almond flavoring so I used lemon flavoring.

The icecream cone is cake covered in fondant. The "icecream" is rice krispy treats covered in buttercream I dyed green and added some crushed up Girl Scout Thin Mint cookies. Isn't this a fun cake?

The cake was for a neighbor that helped with some demolition of our basement.

The cake was a scratch carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

Luau Roast Pig

Definitely one of my favorites I've done so far. I had to bake two batches of cakes (the first batch all sunk in the middle), but it worked out in the end. It's covered in buttercream with fondant accents. I'm still deciding if I'm going to put a fondant flower lei around the pigs neck. If I do I will post that picture.

I decorated this cake for my Mother-in-law in just about an hour. It's a six inch cake. I had the cake already baked and sitting in my fridge waiting for something to be done with it, so I just threw this together. The basketweave is buttercream. The flowers are fondant.

No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed

This cake was made for my daughter's 2 year birthday. The bottom cake was a funfetti cake with buttercream frosting. The top was a strawberry cake with buttercream frosting. The monkeys are made out of fondant. The rest of the cake is accented with fondant accents. The bed posts are made from modeling chocolate. Unfortunately, the bottom cake started to sag.

I decided to start this blog as an easy way for people to see my cakes. Feel free to browse the pictures and comment. I'm fairly new to cake decorating and would some day like to have a business.
