Mercedee's 12th birthday cake

It's a boy!

I put this cake together for a friend who was throwing a baby shower. The train was not traced. The smoke clouds say "It's a boy".

Ella's 2nd Birthday Cake

This cake was made for a friend of mine. Her daughter Ella was turning two and she really loves the Disney movie "Beauty and the Beast". I found a picture online and made a reverse copy of the picture. I then did a butter cream transfer of the picture for the cake. I really like how the cake turned out.

The Golden Snitch

Made for my daughter's 6th birthday. She wanted a cake with Harry Potter and the golden snitch. This is what I came up with. The cake was cooked in two Pyrex bowls and covered in fondant. The wings are fondant. Harry is also fondant. If you look closely there is a chocolate frog. The cake is a chocolate cake.

Funny story about this cake. I decorated it the night before (after suffering all day with food poisoning). In the morning my daughter was looking at the cake and she said "Mom you forgot Harry's glasses". I had left off Harry's glasses. I had tried so carefully to get all the details right. Harry even had green eyes. I still can't believe I left his glasses off. So anyway, I quickly make some glasses and put them on him.

Be Thou an Example of the Believers

Made for a Young Women New Beginnings program. The bees are fondant. The rest is buttercream. The cake was one layer white cake and the other layer chocolate. I can't remember if it had a filling.

Duel Birthdays

This cake was made for a friend of mine. Her husband was turning 30 and he loves tv. She also wanted half of it for her sister-in-law. This is what I came up with. The flowers are royal icing the rest was piped cream cheese. The cake was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.
